IN-HOUSE SOCCER

Posted by Derek Correia at Jan 2, 2010 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

IN-HOUSE SOCCER

The BYSC In-house program is a for-fun, community developmental program focused on skills, sportsmanship, team play and a knowledge of the game. As it is often the first organized sport a child plays, we are intent on making it a fun experience for children and their families. It is also intended to develop travel soccer aptitude for those children who have the desire to transition to travel, which is more serious and more competitive.

The Pre-K and Kindergarten Age Groups have parent coached teams assisted by paid Professional Trainers.  The Older Age Groups are trained by Professional Trainers - parents are welcome to offer assistance.  The Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade Players are eligible for one of two Programs - Saturday ONLY or Saturday + Midweek (Wed) Clinic.

By second grade, more dedicated players may choose our pre-travel program. To learn more about it, please click the pre-travel link at left.

To learn more details about how the in-house program is structured and run, please click on the handout link at the bottom of this page.

We are constantly tweaking our programs based on parent feedback and enrollment numbers, so please bear with us if anything changes.

BU10 Fireballs
GU9 Hurricanes
GU10 Tornados

At each game the referee rates the sporting behavior of each team’s coaches, players and parents   (-2 to +2 for each) and submits a score as part of their game report.  Each team’s total score (-6 to +6) is totaled and averaged for the season to determine a winner and runner-up. These can be tracked on the WYSL team page.

These teams (players, coaches and parents) displayed the respect for the referee/opposition and positive coaching reinforcement that exemplifies positive sporting behavior.

Special congratulations to the
BU9 Patriots
(Rob Tillis/Peter DiBiasi/Paul Brooks)
For winning the
“Double Goal Coaching Award.”

This is awarded to a team that wins both the “Sportsmanship Award” and their Division.
